I am a Junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science.
During my studies, I became increasingly interested in fields of computer science such as
machine learning and computer vision. In the project I am working on during this REU program,
I am combining the research from both fields in order to perform fast and automated segmentation
of the left ventricle of the heart given 4-Dimensional MRI images. Doing this will help calculate
the volume of the heart during the systole and diastole state which will aid in medical diagnosis.
We will use different methods for classifcation such as SVM and Random Forests for learning with
learned features extracted from autoencoders and CNN's, and hand-crafted features such as HOG and
Haar-like features. The links below will explain my project more in depth and provide my progress
